Feast your eyes on this gorgeous, Butterfly Mariposa Calcite Cluster with fabulous Hematite inclusions and phantoms that measures 6 3/8x5 1/2x2 1/2". This cluster comes from our newly acquired collection and has beautifully formed dogtooth calcite crystals which seem to "burst forth" like butterflies emerging from their cocoon. The inner phantoms of Hematite are red and maroon crystal formations in a clear to milky to orange tinted calcite. The original Mariposa Mine that produced this unique formation was actually located in the Terlingua district of Brewster County, Tx and has been closed for over 30 years. Today they are being mined in the famous Potosi Mine in the Santa Eulalia district of Chihuahua, Mexico. All the specimens in our collection were mined at the lowest (20th) level of that mine, which is now under 200 feet of water, most probably never to be mined again at that level. We are truly grateful to be able to offer them to you now. A "collector's must" they are also well known for their fluorescence and phosphorescence under an Ultraviolet Short Wave light.

CALCITE comes in a "spectrum" of natural colors, which are due to the blending of other elements during its formation. Often called a "world teacher for humanity" all Calcite helps to bring a greater awareness and appreciation for the "Beauty Way" and the creative energies of nature.
