We are pleased to offer to you this beautiful, tumble polished Apache Tear Obsidian. It measures 7/8x3/4x5/8" and has been tumble polished to perfection right here in our workshop. It will make a wonderful addition to your collection of obsidian.

Obsidian is a wonderful stone for protection and for shielding one from negative energies. It provides a connection for grounding us to the heart of Mother Earth, and it is a terrific companion stone for those who are seeking to correct the "flaws within" by helping one to see a clear picture of the changes which need to be made. In addition, in accordance with the teachings of the Medicine Wheel, Obsidian is the grounding stone for those born under the sign of Sagittarius.

An Apache Tear is a natural, compressed  form of Obsidian, found in Arizona. Legend says that when an Apache band was driven over a cliff by the cavalry, they screamed out the name "Geronimo" crashing to their deaths, horses and all. Mother Earth felt the sadness and grief of the surviving women and their families so much that she turned their tears into these stones. They are superb for "shedding our tears for us" so that we may gain greater insight and acceptance of our loss, and can promote forgiveness and a release of any grudges being held.
